Tracy Letts

Personal context

Summary

Tracy Letts is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor, known for August: Osage County, Killer Joe, The Minutes and roles in Lady Bird and Little Women. His plays often examine American family life, social behavior and politics. He has said he hopes storytelling will tell more women’s stories, and described slavery and the genocide of native American people as issues the country must confront. His public record shows these statements about representation and historical injustice; no public record of party campaigning, advocacy-group roles or repeated activism is evident.
