Martin Baxter is a former MI6 agent who now works as a London bouncer and part-time cage fighter. He wants a quiet life with his twelve-year-old daughter after a mission in Kyiv ended with his wife’s death. A Ukrainian journalist pulls him back into the spy world when she asks him to recover secret files. Russian agents seize his daughter, and Martin has one day to save her while facing Russian and British intelligence. The film uses a dark, tense action-thriller tone with fights, gunfire, family pain, and several twists.
The strongest message appears in the final news interview, where Sasha defends free speech, objective truth, and a united international press. The story links those ideas to Russian lies, chemical weapons, and the killing of opposition journalists. The film also presents British and American agencies as secretive and morally gray, but this is standard spy-thriller conflict rather than a modern identity campaign. The main character arc stays focused on a father admitting the truth about his wife and rebuilding trust with his daughter.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Legacy of Lies.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The film uses a British male action lead, a Ukrainian journalist, a Russian operative, and a daughter. Those choices fit the European spy setting, and the film does not present them as a diversity program.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Sasha gives a short TV speech about Russian killings of opposition activists and journalists. She says that objective truth is under threat everywhere and calls for the international press to stand together for free speech. The film presents this as a pro-free-press message, not as identity politics.
12%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The story centers on espionage, family, betrayal, and truth. It does not build its main conflict around race, gender, sexuality, or DEI.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. British and American agencies are shown as secretive and morally gray, but the film treats this as standard spy conflict. It does not attack modern Western family life, Christianity, capitalism, or gender roles.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original spy story with no established character or source canon to change.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No clear anti-woke or anti-DEI complaint about the film was found. Audience posts focus on action, plot twists, and the ending.

Creator track record context
Adrian Bol has a cached score of 0 and is known mainly for genre thrillers, not activist or identity-focused work. Most listed producers and casting directors have cached scores from 0 to 12 and no clear DEI profile. Larysa Gutarevych has a cached score of 58 because she supports women in media, but that work is not tied to this film’s story or marketing. The wider creator record gives only a weak context signal.
