Hank Malone is a former Navy SEAL who now carries urgent deliveries in Brisbane, Australia. His next job is to take a donated liver to a hospital on the Gold Coast for a sick girl named Ellie. Ben rides with him, and a cartel hunts them because its leader wants the same rare liver for his dying mother. Car crashes, gunfights, jokes, and delays put the delivery at risk as the safe travel time runs out. Hank also faces grief over his dead daughter and tries to stay sober. Donna leads the cartel hunting the couriers. Kate fights a nurse who threatens Ellie, then helps Hank in the last hospital fight. These women take leader and protector roles, but the main story follows Hank and Ben. Their roles add a gender-role element to a story about trust, grief, and getting the liver to Ellie.
