Personal context

Summary

Brad Pitt is an actor and producer whose work ranges from studio films to independent dramas, and he co-founded Plan B Entertainment, which has produced films such as 12 Years a Slave, Moonlight, and The Big Short. He has described Plan B’s aim as supporting films that might otherwise be overlooked. In 2008, Pitt donated $100,000 to defeat California’s Proposition 8 and publicly argued for marriage equality; he reiterated that position in interviews and a 2014 statement. He also founded Make It Right to support affordable, sustainable housing in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. No public statements on DEI or identity-based casting are on record.
