2017–2020 · Based on 3 seasons through October 25, 2020 ·
Peter Parker is a smart but unsure student at Midtown High. After a radioactive spider bites him, Peter becomes Spider-Man and learns to protect people after his uncle dies. He studies at Horizon High while fighting villains such as Doctor Octopus, Venom, the Green Goblin, and the Sinister Six. The show has a light, fast, and kid-friendly tone, with science, school problems, jokes, and superhero battles. The series gives major roles to Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Anya Corazon, who become heroes and fight beside Peter. Their different backgrounds are part of the cast, but the story does not focus on identity politics or activist causes. The main themes are responsibility, friendship, teamwork, science, trust, and learning from mistakes. Later episodes focus more on Venom, symbiotes, and a threat to Earth than on social issues.
