2024– · Based on 3 seasons through August 13, 2026 ·
Tires follows Will, a nervous manager who runs one branch of his family’s auto shop in Pennsylvania. He wants to prove that he can save the business, but his crude and lazy cousin Shane keeps making his job harder. Cal, Kilah, Dave, and other workers add more trouble as the shop faces low sales, family fights, bad plans, and new rivals. The show uses short workplace stories, dirty jokes, insults, and growing family and friendship ties.
The show gives gender and workplace issues a small but repeated place in the story. Will’s first big plan is a women’s initiative that promises to make the shop more comfortable, but the men turn it into a joke about sex and sales. A full second-season episode mocks HR lessons about sexual harassment, ableism, bias, and racism, while the third season follows Will and Kilah at a women’s business meeting. The later episodes also show Shane facing loneliness, love, age, and the cost of his behavior, but the main focus stays on crude comedy, shop problems, and the bond between the cousins.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Tires.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The recurring cast is a normal group of modern Pennsylvania shop workers, not a diversity-first group built around identity. The show does not frame its casting as a representation message.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Will presents a women’s initiative and says the shop should make women feel comfortable. A reporter questions the plan, while the men turn its language into crude jokes. An HR episode discusses sexual harassment, ableism, implicit bias, and racism, even as the workers mock the lessons. Season 3 brings back gender-focused talk through a women’s business event and jokes about Lucy being a liberal.
45%
Identity-driven story themes
Will’s main plan in the first season tries to bring more women into the shop and make them feel safe. The story turns that plan into a failed mix of marketing, sexual jokes, and poor judgment. The second season makes workplace rules and male sexual behavior a full episode conflict. The third season gives Kilah a women’s business event and a painful story about former teammates leaving her out. These themes recur, but the show treats them mainly as comedy and character trouble.
36%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The shop’s male culture treats women as targets for sex jokes and often makes the men look childish. Will tries to change that culture, but his plan is shown as weak business theater rather than a serious reform program. The HR episode mocks workplace rules about harassment, ableism, implicit bias, and racism. Season 3 gives some men consequences for cheating, sex addiction, and selfish behavior. The show questions bad behavior without turning that lesson into a broad activist attack on Western institutions.
26%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Tires is an original workplace comedy, so it does not change a known character, book, historical person, or real event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
One low-engagement X post said Season 3, Episode 1 had gone “Netflix woke” because of a claimed January 6 and AR-15 line. The post did not spread into a wider campaign. Most right-leaning coverage praised the series as anti-woke, which is not a complaint that the show pushes woke content.
8%
Creator track record context
Not present. The cached notes give Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, and McKeever no sustained activist, DEI, or representation-first record. Their title-related interviews focus on comedy, improv, and filming in a real Pennsylvania tire shop.
