Accident Man follows Mike Fallon, a skilled London hit man who makes his kills look like accidents. He works from a pub with other killers who treat murder like a regular job. When Beth, his former girlfriend, is killed, Mike learns that fellow assassins carried out the hit and starts hunting for the person who ordered it. The film uses fast fights, bloody deaths, crude jokes, and a dark comic tone as Mike moves through a strange underworld.
Beth was living with Charlie, her new girlfriend, and their relationship drives Mike's revenge mission. Charlie argues with Mike, lands a strong punch, and helps uncover Beth's work against an oil company that bribed public officials. Jane the Ripper is a skilled female assassin who gets a major fight with Mike, while the film treats the one openly homophobic killer as a cruel fool who is punished. These elements add ordinary LGBTQ+ representation, female action roles, and some anti-chauvinist messaging, but the main story remains a violent revenge tale about criminals rather than an identity or political drama.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Accident Man.
Woke representation / casting
Charlie is Beth's girlfriend and has an active role in the investigation. Jane the Ripper is a prominent female assassin who gets a major fight with Mike. An Adkins interview says Sony wanted a female character. The same interview says the team wanted Charlie to be a powerful woman. The wider cast includes black and Asian male assassins, but the film does not use a wider diversity campaign.
27%
Woke political dialogue
Beth investigates an oil company connected to North Sea drilling. Mike and Charlie discuss bribery and public officials. The film uses these points as a crime motive. It does not turn them into repeated speeches or a broad political program.
12%
Identity-driven story themes
Beth and Charlie are a confirmed same-sex couple. Beth's murder starts the main revenge plot. Charlie outtalks Mike and lands a strong punch, while Mike's chauvinist attitude is shown as a flaw. Mac uses homophobic language and is later humiliated. These themes are visible, but the film is not a queer-centered story.
28%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Mike's macho chauvinism is treated as a flaw. Charlie challenges him in an argument and hurts him in a fight. Mike learns that his attitude helped drive Beth away. Mac's homophobic talk is challenged and he is punished. The film does not attack Christianity or Western institutions.
22%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film expands the comic story and changes some details, but Adkins said Beth leaving Mike for another woman was already part of the comic. No identity-driven rewrite of an established character or real event is clearly reported.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X pass found no complaints. Web coverage focused on action, violence, and crude humor rather than DEI or identity politics.
0%
Creator track record context
The main writers and director are mainly known for action or comic work. Pat Mills has a political and counterculture background. Gillian Hawser has supported greater industry diversity. The title interviews add some female-empowerment context, but creator politics are not the film's main subject.
