Deadpool: No Good Deed is a four-minute comedy short about Wade Wilson, the masked killer who likes to act like a hero. He sees an old man being held up in a dark city alley and rushes to help. Wade stops to change clothes in a phone booth, but the change takes too long and the man is shot. Deadpool then comes out, finds the body, and turns the failure into a cruel joke with a snack and a long book report.
An on-screen book report jokes that men often hide their feelings and use violence to force their views on others. The joke lasts only a moment and does not guide the rescue or change Wade’s actions. The short shows that a hero costume does not make Wade useful or responsible. The story instead mocks superhero rules, Superman’s phone-booth change, Logan, and Deadpool’s own need to look cool.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Deadpool: No Good Deed.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The short has only Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, an old man, a mugger, and a brief Stan Lee appearance. The cast does not show a diversity-first pattern.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The spoken lines focus on rescue, apology, and costume jokes. The brief gender joke appears in the written end text instead of dialogue.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
The end text makes one brief joke about men hiding feelings and using violence to force their views. The joke does not shape Wade’s failed rescue or any character arc. The short mainly mocks superhero rules and Deadpool’s vanity.
8%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The book-report text briefly links older men with hidden fear and violent behavior. This is a small jab at male behavior. The short does not attack family, religion, government, business, or another Western institution.
8%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The short keeps Wade Wilson as Deadpool and does not change his race, sex, sexuality, or hero role. The story adds a comic failure rather than an identity-based canon change.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No anti-woke or right-leaning complaint was found in the reviewed coverage. The separate X pass also found no anti-woke reaction.
0%
Creator track record context
David Leitch, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick have low woke scores of 11, 9, and 9. Ryan Reynolds has a higher but still low score of 25. His charity work is more visible than any activist link to this short.
